Overview
Trashmitter is an on-demand waste disposal service designed to make responsible trash disposal easier. The platform connects two audiences: 'Trashmitters' who need waste collected and 'Sweepers' who provide the service. Through the mobile apps, users can set their pickup details while Sweepers schedule and complete collections, earning a fee in the process.
The Challenge
Managing waste collection is often inconvenient, with few reliable on-demand options. Users needed a fast, seamless way to book and track pickups, while Sweepers required tools to manage jobs and payments efficiently.
Designing for both groups in one ecosystem meant balancing their unique needs while keeping the product effective for MVP.
The Solution
We created a lean, user-first app focused on clarity and speed. Journey mapping and feature planning shaped a clear MVP, focusing only on essential functions.
I designed a clean, minimal interface to kept tasks simple, while real-time updates, notifications and in-app chat built trust between users. After each transaction both parties can rate and review, creating accountability and social proof on the platform, setting strong foundations for future growth.
Keeping up-to-date
The transaction can be tracked in real-time using maps and geo-location, with status updates, notifications and an in-app chat function. On completion both users can rate and review the interaction adding a level of social proof to the platform.
Moving fast for MVP
We created a usage model that mapped out how the two user types interacted throughout the entire experiences. Feature maps helped us determined what was needed within each app and lock in the scope of the project for MVP.
Effective & Easy-to-use
The app focuses on quick and easy processes that allow the user to complete their tasks efficiently. The interface was designed with this in mind, keeping the visual weight of each screen down to the bare minimum and highlighting the main actionable items.
